Irons In The Fire

It’s FRIDAY!  I feel like we should all hug.  It’s been a rough week, huh.  Today I’m guest posting over at my friend Beth from Sawdust & Embryo’s blog.  She is A.MAY.ZING.  I’m figuratively jumping up and down over the fact she let me guest post.  A huge THANK YOU to her!

I feel like if our kitchen/summer renovation extravaganza was a fire, all the sub-projects would be irons.  And there are many many irons up in that fire.  And… the fire might be a little out of control.  So much so, that it is time to send some hot fire fighters into the scene.

Anyway… I don’t have any finished projects to put on display for you.  But I can give you a peek at what’s going on around Green Meadow Manor.

After 90+ responses to my Facebook post, and much deliberation (ANTM style, of course) of our own, may I present to you winner of this season’s paint choice: Rockport Gray.

And much online shopping.  Bar stools are not to be taken lightly.

Digging back the fence-line so we can build a retaining wall, and consequently a fence that won’t have forceful dirt pushed up against its feet.  Aaron’s digging muscles are getting worked.  My watching muscles are too.

Tile removal of the perma-dirt colored flooring.  So long, you won’t be missed.

YES! Rockport Gray, I WIN!! lol looking good girl, I am living so very vicariously through you at the moment with all this house hunting (or more accurately house-waiting) we are doing, I just want to paint walls, and break stuff and actually put some of this inspiration you give me daily to good use!! urgh! Come on house, be mine already!

I hope you are feeling better and congrats on your guest post! I love Sawdust and Embryos! I can’t wait to see all the new duds!

How is the house hunting situation going?! Still just waiting on that lady?! Waiting is the WORST! I am a horrible waiter. I just want to know what needs to be done, and execute. Sitting and waiting does not jive well with me. I hope things move quickly for you!

  • I can’t believe how much you guys have going on all at the same time! But it will be amazing when it’s all done and you can sit back and enjoy it all 🙂

I seriously cannot WAIT! I just want to bake cookies. More than anything in the world. I swear, I am going to make SO many cookies when I have a usable kitchen. Heck, maybe I’ll mail some across the country to all my favorite blog friends 🙂

I love that colour! Your new cabinetry is going to pop with the contrasting grey! I can’t wait to see the “after” photos.

Also – a big “ugh” to the digging. Been there, and blargh to that. Poor Aaron’s arms. Is he sick of it yet? I would just hire a little digging machine and do it in about an hour.

Because I’m like that. Laziness, I think they call it. 😉

Aaron is definitely getting his arm work-out for sure! I really feel bad for him when it comes to laying the cinder block for the retaining wall. I wish there was a lazy way for that! I mean, I guess we could hire it out, but you know, my money doesn’t appreciate the laziness in my soul. 🙂

I knew you all have been busy with the house. Hope you are able to get it do e before its get’s cold over there. How are you feeling, any better? Pray you are doing well. Thanks for stopping by my blog last week I appreciate it very much. Can’t wait to see the finished project on your home.

Thanks Vanessa! The doctor has me on some medication that is helping the tear heal. It makes me really groggy during the day, but it is doing its job, so no REAL complaints here 🙂 I’ve got a great support system. We should be done with the really big projects soon, which is a relief. I am ready to go back to smaller crafts like spray painting vases, haha.
