This old house… This new adventure: RENOVATION

Buying a house is an adventure.  But it’s only the beginning of a much bigger adventure.  I find it very exciting!  I don’t have to ask anyone if I want to paint, or knock down walls, or anything!  It’s liberating!

We started with something easy, right away.  New paint.  Paint is the cheapest transformation.  And, it’s pretty easy to correct if you hate it.

The paint looked 20 years old, so we didn’t even wait a week before jumping right into painting.  We figured since everything was still in boxes it was the perfect time.

While I was on a roll with painting the walls, I thought giving the coffee table a make over would be fun.  It took 6 coats of paint and primer to turn it from black to red!  It took longer than painting the walls.  I made some art to go over the stairs with the left over paint.

I still have a few little projects for the front room.  We are going to refinish the mantle and re-tile is as well.  AND, most importantly, I am going to find a pattern and sew covers for the wing back chairs.
